Audi wins VDA Logistics Award for automated vehicle transport

Audi won the VDA Logistics award 2017 with Serva Transport Systems' automated guided vehicle (AGV) RAY. Our robots are in operation at the Audi plant in Ingolstadt since February 2015 and sort in three-shift operation up to 2,000 cars per day since. „With their flexible navigation we are improving efficiency in vehicle transport as well. FTS Ray is now in production operation at the Ingolstadt plant. We will be transferring the concept to other processes and sites,“ said Prof. Dr. Hubert Waltl, Board Member for Production and Logistics at AUDI AG.

Ray at Duesseldorf Airport

Exploding land prices, increased space requirements and outdated car parks are a combination that is increasingly becoming a challenge in providing space for parking. Urbanization, wider vehicles and the generally growing need for mobility increases the pressure on providers of parking spaces even more. In addition, users of parking areas expect more comfort and convenience.

Our automated parking system passed all the tests and it is now officially in operation! 249 automated parking spaces at Düsseldorf Airport can now be used via the patented robots from Serva. At a recent press conference, journalists were keen on the concept. This was reflected by the variety of features seen in the media soon after.

Its opening is not the only new item to report. The official naming of the robot that makes parking quick, safe, and easy was announced. Its name is „Ray.“
